        1.Vibration and noise reduction principle

         

        Damping material refers to any vibration system in vibration due to external effects or inherent reasons caused by the vibration amplitude of the gradual decline in the characteristics of the system itself, that is, can be converted into vibration energy into heat energy consumption of materials, divided into free damping and constrained damping two forms: Free damping, also known as extended damping, as shown on the left side of the figure below, directly adheres the damping material to the surface of the structural part requiring vibration damping treatment. When bending vibration occurs, energy is consumed through the tensile deformation of the damping layer, thus achieving the effect of vibration suppression and noise reduction, such as TD09 damping plate and TD10 damping glue (paste) produced by our company. It's the damping material of a free-damping structure.

         

        Restraint damping, as shown on the right side of the figure below, that is, a rigid restraint layer material with high modulus is adhered to the damping layer. When the structural part is bent, the energy is consumed through the shear deformation of the damping layer, so as to achieve the purpose of vibration and noise reduction. For example, TD08 damping coating produced by our company is a damping material in the form of this mechanism. In mechanics, the shear deformation force is much greater than the bending deformation force, so the effect of constrained damping structure is better than that of free damping structure.

         

         

         

        2.Site of use

         

        Damping material is different from sound absorbing material, it is an active noise reduction material, its principle is to convert the vibration mechanical energy into heat energy dissipation, so that the vibration energy that produces noise is greatly attenuated, that is, from the vibration (sound) source to effectively control vibration and noise, therefore, damping material should be mainly used to produce vibration and noise parts and vibration transmission path in the relevant parts:

        1, The bottom and wall of the ship's main/auxiliary engine room, rudder engine room, large air conditioning room, emergency power room, etc.
        2, the ship's central control room, instrument equipment room, crew office, lounge, dining room bottom and wall.
        3, other areas such as the outer wall of large ventilation pipes, the inside of the top steel plate of the building steel structure, the engine room, the inner wall of the steel plate of the soundproof door cover and other relevant parts that have vibration and noise.

         

        3.Dosage calculation method

         

        The thickness of damping material is usually 1.5 ~ 2.0 times of the thickness of the substrate, and the amount of use is related to the material, area and thickness of the substrate, and the calculation formula is the amount of damping material = thickness (mm) × area (m2) × density (g/cm), such as: The density of TD08 damping coating produced by our company is 1.5g/, the density of TD09 damping plate is 1.7g /c, and the density of TD10 damping glue (paste) is 1.2g/. To wit:

         

        1,TD08 damping coating amount = damping layer amount + restraint layer amount = thickness (1mm) × area () ×1.1g/cm. Restraint layer amount = thickness (total thickness of damping coating designed - thickness of damping layer 1mm) × area () ×1.5g/cm

        2, TD09 damping plate total amount = plate amount + damping paste amount damping plate amount = (design damping plate total thickness - damping paste thickness mm) × area (m) ×1.7g/cm

        3,TD10 damping adhesive (paste) dosage = thickness (mm) × area () ×1.2g/cm, where the damping material thickness of aluminum substrate is 1.5 ~ 1.7 times of its thickness; The steel substrate is 1.5 to 2.0 times its thickness
